TERM 4, 2009 

Our final term for 2009 is upon us and what a busy term it is going to be.  This year has flown past, however there is still a lot to be done.

This term's integrated topic is 'inventors and inventions', which will challenge the students to think about inventions they use in their everyday lives.  They are learning about patenting inventions, how to 'tinker', what makes certain inventions work and much more.  See below for some great websites to use at home.

Homework for this term has been handed out and discussed in each class.  The students are excited about the possibility of being able to construct objects in the'construction' section of the homework.

Swimming is timetabled for each Monday, Wednesday and Friday during weeks 2,3 and 4.  We are encouraging independence and organisational skills during these sessions.  We have received some very positive feedback from the students about their first swimming sessions and we hope this continues.

There will be two Gala Sports Days this term.  The first is netball on Friday 6th November and our last Gala Day for the year is handball on Friday 4th December.

We will be attending the 'Anatomy to Robots' exhibition at Southbank on 17th November.  This excursion will compliment our inventions and inventors theme.
