Dear all school community members,
Welcome to Albert Park Primary School. We all look forward to the year ahead.
At APPS, Literacy and Numeracy are at the core of our curriculum, and we offer a range of opportunities in the arts, in languages, in science, in Australian history and in sport and physical education. We use technology to engage all students in every lesson. We are a friendly school where children and teachers have a strong sense of belonging. We celebrate success. We support each other when things go wrong.
We all strive to maintain the strong, unique culture of Albert Park Primary School; to encourage others, to take pride in doing our best, to work as a team and to see every day as an opportunity to learn and enjoy. We encourage our children to be independent, to cooperate with teachers and other students and to dream big believing they can achieve their dreams through effort and knowledge. We challenge our students and urge them to make the most of every opportunity that presents itself both now and in the future. In order to do this, our children practise resilience and do not easily give up on any task. They have fun, develop a good sense of humour and treat others with fairness, respect and kindness.
We all aim to be life-long learners with high expectations. Our teachers have a strong culture of professional development which is evident in their team planning and use of data to enhance teaching and learning. We build on the success that our children experience and work with them and our parents to support further improvement.
Our year six students exit our school well prepared for the next stage of their educational journey and with the sense of excitement that new learning brings to all aspects of their lives.
